DAC by screws with 60° optical access
The diamond anvil cell is the most versatile pressure device generating force on a sample that can be investigate by the optical transparency of diamonds.
The Symmetric DAC cell 60° is a symmetrical diamond anvil cell for high pressure study up to 50 GPa. The pressure depends from the diamond culet size.
The device works by a screw driven mechanism. Two left handed and two right handed screws.
Furthermore the cell is realized with a symmetrical total conical aperture of 60°. It also has two lateral access holes.
The DAC has enabled to scientists to obtain phase stability information. Scientists constantly endeavor to improve DAC experimental techniques in order to obtain to obtain further information about the physical properties of any material. With the addition of a laser or a resistance heater or with cryogenic cooling, scientists can also use the DAC to explore the pressure, volume, temperature relationship and the resulting structural changes of any material its equation of state and phase diagram. Higher pressure and increased temperature may force further structural changes, until the material loses its crystal structure entirely that is, it melts.
